    Arai Keerai is a fast-growing leafy vegetable widely cultivated in South India for its tender, nutritious leaves. Rich in vitamins A and C, iron, calcium, and antioxidants, it is a popular ingredient in traditional dishes such as stir-fries, curries, dal preparations, and soups. The plants produce abundant foliage and can be harvested repeatedly by cutting the young shoots.

    Germination Tips:

    • Sow seeds shallowly, covering them with only a thin layer of soil (about 0.5 cm).
    • Use a well-draining, fertile growing medium.
    • Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
    • Ideal germination temperature is 20–30°C (68–86°F).
    • Seeds usually germinate within 3–10 days.
    • Grow in full sun to partial shade for vigorous leaf production.
    • Begin harvesting young leaves 25–40 days after sowing and continue harvesting regularly to encourage new growth.
